What we do in your driveway
Most jobs that a shop would keep your car overnight for are finished in two to three hours at the curb. If a job genuinely needs a lift, we say so on the phone before we drive out — no surprises, no wasted visit.
Batteries & charging
Click-click-no-start on a January morning is our most common call. We load-test the battery, check the alternator output and the parasitic draw, and install a new one on the spot if it's done.

Check-engine & diagnostics
A code is a symptom, not a diagnosis. We pull the codes, read live sensor data, and road-test the car before we quote anything. You get the fault explained in plain language and a written estimate.

Tires & seasonal swaps
Spring and fall, we do driveway-to-driveway swaps on your own rims. Torqued to spec with a calibrated wrench, pressures set, TPMS sensors reset. Book the week before the snow, not the morning of.

Tell us the year, make and model, the symptom, and where the car is parked. If it's a job we can't do at the curb, we'll tell you straight away and point you to a shop that can.

We quote before we drive
You get a firm price range on the phone and a written estimate before any part comes out of the van. No diagnostic fee surprises, no "we found more once we got in there" without a call first.

We come to the car
Driveway, condo garage, office parking lot, or the shoulder of the 427 if it's safe. We bring our own power, light and tools. You keep your keys and your day.
Payment by tap, e-transfer or cash once the job is finished and you've seen the old parts. Warranty on parts and labour: 12 months or 20,000 km.
Who's under the hood
HB Mobile Mechanic started in 2016 out of a single van and a rented bay on Canso Road, after eleven years of working shop floors around Rexdale and North York. The idea was simple and slightly stubborn: most of what a garage charges you for is the building, the front desk, and the time your car spends parked in a queue. Take those away and the same repair costs a third less.
We're a licensed 310S automotive service technician shop, insured, and we work on everything from a 2004 Corolla with 340,000 km to a leased F-150 that just needs its oil changed without a two-hour wait. Domestic, Japanese, Korean and most European makes. We don't do bodywork, we don't do alignments, and we'll tell you when a dealer is genuinely the right call.
What we do is show up when we say we will, explain the fault before we touch it, and hand you back the parts we replaced. That's the whole business model.
